The rail tour in Vietnam makes
tourists feeling to discover the beautiful landscapes, the historical relics,
the white sandy beaches along the journey. Have a bath in the transparent
water or making the excellent fishing, snorkeling and scuba diving in the
remote islands of Nha Trang. Your journey going to Hoi An- ancient town of
Danang to walk along the small narrow streets, to study the old architectures
that were over one hundred years such as the old traditional houses, the
Japanese Covered Bridge was built in early 17th century also known as the
Pagoda Bridge or enjoy the colorful markets. Cruising on the nice and peaceful
Perfume River to admire the Thien Mu pagoda- has become the unofficial symbol
of Hue, the most majestic of the Royal Tombs is that of Minh Mang. Overnight
on train with the air condition sleeper going to Hanoi, a nice city that still
preserves the old quarter of thirty-six streets beautifully located among the
lakes and rivers. The rest day in Hanoi visiting the One Pillar Pagoda,
HoChiMinh’s Mausoleum, Fine Art Museum, and the Temple of Literature.

| Day 2:
Ho Chi Minh City-Cu Chi-Ho Chi Minh City |

A morning city tour of dynamic Ho Chi Minh City, still called Saigon by many locals, takes in the former Presidential Palace, the Notre Dame Cathedral, Old Saigon Post Office, a lacquerware factory and Thien Hau Pagoda in the city's bustling Chinatown. In the afternoon visit the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, an incredible underground tunnel network constructed by Vietnamese resistance fighters during the long struggle for independence. Overnight in HCMC. | Day 3:
Ho Chi Minh City-Nha Trang |

Transfer to Saigon Railway Station after breakfast for the day train to Nha Trang. The journey takes around nine hours but life both inside and outside the Reunification Express is never boring. A simple dinner is provided on the train. Arrive in Nha Trang, Vietnam's premier beach destination, in the evening and transfer to hotel. Overnight Nha Trang. (B)

| Day 4:
Nha Trang-Danang |

A morning boat trip on Nha Trang bay visits some of the nearby islands and there are opportunities to swim and snorkel in the clear warm waters. Return to shore after a fresh seafood lunch on one of the islands in the bay. The afternoon is free to relax on the beach before transferring to Nha Trang Station to catch the overnight train to Danang. Overnight on train. (B/L)

| Day 5:
Danang-Hoi An |

Simple breakfast on the train before arriving in Danang. Transfer to Hoi An, a major Asian trading port in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries whose architecture and relaxed lifestyle has changed little over the years. Take a walking tour of the ancient town centre to visit the former merchants' homes, the 400 year-old Japanese Covered Bridge and the colourful market. Overnight in Hoi An. (B)

| Day 6:
Hoi An-Danang-Hue |

Leave Hoi An after breakfast to visit the Marble Mountains, five sacred hills containing dozens of Buddhist shrines. Also visit China Beach, once famous as a beach resort for resting US soldiers and the Cham Museum containing the finest collection of Cham sculpture in the world. Transfer to Danang Station to catch the local train to Hue. Only hard bench seats are available for this two and half hour journey but the spectacular scenery as the train snakes around the rugged coastline makes up for any discomfort. Arrive in Hue in the late afternoon and transfer to hotel. Overnight in Hue. (B)

| Day 7:
Hue |

A boat trip on the romantically named Perfume River visits Hue's best-known religious site, Thien Mu Pagoda, and the mausoleum of former emperor Minh Mang, in a tranquil setting of gardens and lakes. In the afternoon visit the elaborate mausoleums of emperors Tu Duc and Khai Dinh and the Imperial Citadel from where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. Overnight in Hue. (B)

Hue-Hanoi |

A free morning to relax or further explore this historical city before transferring to Hue's pink-washed colonial station to catch the overnight sleeper train to Hanoi. A simple dinner is provided on the train. Overnight on train. (B/D)

Hanoi |

Arrive in Hanoi early in the morning and transfer directly to hotel. Hanoi is a unique Asian city with tree-lined boulevards, French colonial architecture, peaceful lakes and oriental temples. A full day city tour includes such sights as Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Fine Arts Museum, the Temple of Literature, the Lake of the Restored Sword and the Old Quarter. In the evening enjoy a traditional Vietnamese water puppet show. Overnight in Hanoi. (B)

Hanoi-Haiphong-Halong |

Transfer to Hanoi Station to take the local train to Haiphong. Arrive in Haiphong, Vietnam's third largest city, around noon. Haiphong still has many impressive examples of classic European colonial architecture in its town centre. An early afternoon city tour along the wide boulevards includes a visit to Hang Kenh Tapestry Factory and the Du Hang Pagoda, founded over three centuries ago. Continue by road to Halong mid-afternoon. Overnight in Halong. (B)

Halong-Hanoi |

A morning cruise in a private junk on the emerald green waters of Halong Bay, among the 3,000 spectacular limestone islands. The cruise ends with a fresh seafood lunch on board. Return to Hanoi by road in the afternoon. Overnight in Hanoi. (B/L)
